Inheritance and resistance characterizations to Helminthosporum maydis race T obtained through mutagenesis on Texas male-sterile cytoplasm maize

Inheritance and resistance characterizations to Helminthosporum maydis race T obtained through mutagenesis on Texas male-sterile cytoplasm maize

3rd International Congress of Plant Pathology, Munchen, 16-23 August 1978: 287

Seeds of French line F7 Texas were treated with a mutagen, and M3 and M4 progenies were screened in vitro and in the greenhouse. Six resistant families were obtained after screening in the M5 under severe field infection. Resistance was inherited maternally. Fertility restoration and the development of resistance to H. maydis (Cochliobolus heterostrophus) race T appeared closely connected.
