Inheritance and transgressive segregation of the characters plant height and ear yield in intervarietal wheat hybrids

The varieties Karlik 1 Kavkaz Sibiryachka 1105 (wheat from Siberia 1105) and Gaines, which differ in height, were crossed inter se. Hybrids whose parents differed appreciably in height were intermediate in the F1 (Karlik 1 X Sibiryachka 1105). In those whose parents were similar in height, tallness was dominant (Karlic 1 X Gaines and Kavkaz X Gaines). Karlik 1 X Gaines and Karlik 1 X Sibiryachka 1105 showed heterosis for yield.
