The study shows how a small number of joint ventures, between growers' co-operatives on the one hand, and wholesale marketing companies on the other, are organized and how they operate in the distribution of fresh fruit and vegetables in the UK. Attention is concentrated on ventures which involve joint risk. Their principal common feature is the responsibility given by the co-operatives to the companies for the marketing of their produce.
