Kluane, one of our most exciting national parks

Kluane, one of our most exciting national parks

Canadian Geographic 100(2): 32-39

Kluane National Park is situated in the southwest corner of the Yukon. A formal park region of 8500 sq. miles was established in 1972, and in 1976 the park boundary was gazetted. The glaciers in the park form the world's largest non-polar icefield, and the highest mountains in Canada, the St. Elias mountains are also within the boundaries.
