Leaching of plant nutrients from cultivated soils. I. Leaching of cations. II. Leaching of anions

Leaching of plant nutrients from cultivated soils. I. Leaching of cations. II. Leaching of anions

Journal of the Scientific Agricultural Society of Finland 50(3): 263-269; 270-275

In greenhouse lysimeters in which the surface of uncropped sand, fine sand and sandy clay from the plough layer of three soils was irrigated with water or 0.025 M sulphuric acid and in which KNO3 + Ca(H2PO4)2.H2O + MgSO4 was added to half of the lysimeters, the cation concentration in the leachate seemed to be determined by the CEC of the soil. The relative and absolute leaching losses were lowest in the sandy clay and greatest in the sand.
