Management of Kuwait's rangelands for sheep production

Management of Kuwait's rangelands for sheep production

Society for Range Management, 33rd Annual Meeting, San Diego, California, February 11-14, 1980, Abstracts and Position Statements: p. 44

Kuwait's expanding population and heavy reliance on imported meat necessitate the further development of sheep production. Nomadic sheep pastoralism already exists. With over 90% of the landbase in Kuwait in rangelands, wise planning and management of these resources are necessary to meet these needs. The rangelands are composed of five major grazing regions, two of which are particularly suitable for sheep production: the Rhanterium and Cyperus Steppes.
