New varieties of perennial ryegrass and of cocksfoot recommended for forage production

New varieties of perennial ryegrass and of cocksfoot recommended for forage production

Revue Suisse d' Agriculture 11(1): 15-20

Variety trials are reported from up to nine localities in 1974-1976 for 43 perennial ryegrass varieties and in 1975-1977 for 33 cocksfoot varieties. As a result of the trials, three new cocksfoot varieties have been added to the official Swiss list. All three are high yielding, with resistance to Puccinia species, and are strongly competitive. Predac is early, Sparta midlate and Lidacta late. Six perennial ryegrass varieties were also added to the list.
