Note on the effects of secondary and trace elements on sunflower yield

In pot trials with sunflower grown in red sandy loam soil (pH 5) given NPK and 0-30 kg S, 0-4 kg B, 0-2.5 t lime or 0-20 kg ZnSO4/ha, seed yields were increased by 38% with 25 kg S/ha, 59% with 4 kg B/ha and 85% with 0.5t lime/ha applied to supply Ca; yields progressively decreased with increases in Zn rates.
