Performance of competition horses with different genetic backgrounds in the disciplines of dressage, show jumping and 3-day eventing, and their breeding value

Performance of competition horses with different genetic backgrounds in the disciplines of dressage, show jumping and 3-day eventing, and their breeding value

Leistungsprufungen von Sportpferden 2 Internationales Wissenschaftliches Symposium Vortrage Leipzig, am 13 und 14 Juli 1976: 265-274

Data collected during 1960-74 on 2027 horses of different genetic backgrounds were analysed. When genetic types were ranked according to prize money won for show jumping, the Trakehnen X warmbloods, German Thoroughbreds (GT), Trakehnen X GTs, and GT X warmbloods ranked significantly higher than English Thoroughbreds (ET), Trakehnens and warmbloods. When ranked for dressage, the Trakehnens and ETs ranked significantly higher than all other types.
