Phenogenetics of the leaf shape in Antirrhinum majus. III. The allometric growth of mutants with different leaf forms

Phenogenetics of the leaf shape in Antirrhinum majus. III. The allometric growth of mutants with different leaf forms

Biologisches Zentralblatt 98(3): 285-305

The morphogenesis of the leaves of 10 A. majus mutants in different environments, characterized by temperature and photoperiod, was investigated quantitatively. The developmental coefficient b was a constant in a given combination of genotype and environment. The narrow-leaf (sten) mutants had b >1. The mutants dim and sa had the same b as the normal Sippe 50 in all experimental conditions. In all mutants b was positively correlated with hours of light/day.
