From an investigation of the relationship between yield and leaf area, leaf area : ground area ratio, crop growth rate, relative growth rate and net assimilation rate in nonflowering varieties it was shown that the high-yielding varieties Co62175 and B37172 had the highest values for the physiological parameters studied while the low-yielding variety H2631 had the lowest values.
