Plant nutrition studies on the grafting of garden crops. 2. Nutrient absorption by grafted plants (cucumber, pumpkin) from culture solutions with varying nutrient levels

Plant nutrition studies on the grafting of garden crops. 2. Nutrient absorption by grafted plants (cucumber, pumpkin) from culture solutions with varying nutrient levels

Journal of the Science of Soil and Manure, Japan 48(9-10): 396-401

In sand culture experiments, cucumber grafted onto pumpkin (C/P) showed greater dry weight and plant height than cucumber grafted onto the parent stock (C/C). For pumpkin grafted onto the parent stock (P/C), dry weight and plant height were lower than for pumpkin grafted onto the parent stock (P/P). Root dry weights were higher for P/P than for C/P and higher for P/C than for C/C.
