Population fluctuations of the rice leaf hoppers and the rice plant hoppers in different rice varieties

Tabulated data are presented on the incidence of Nephotettix virescens, Nisia atrovenosa, Zygina maculifrons and Nilaparvata lugens on up to ten varieties in two different seasons in Tamil Nadu during 1973-74. In the nursery, significant intervarietal differences in incidence were found in the thaladi season in respect of N. virescens (Mashuri and CO25 having the lowest incidence), in the kuruvai season in respect of N. atrovenosa and in both seasons in respect of Z. maculifrons.
