Preliminary results on the complex interaction of factors in the intensive production of white cabbage, carrot, cucumber and leek

Preliminary results on the complex interaction of factors in the intensive production of white cabbage, carrot, cucumber and leek

Gartenbau 25(2): 33-35

Trials were carried out on sandy, alluvial and loess soils using a 4-year rotation with FYM at 300 dt/ha applied to white cabbage and cucumber, with variable amounts of applied water, N and K and crop density. Tabulated results show the cultural combinations which produced the highest yields for each crop. In each case the highest appropriate plant density (e.g. cabbage at 50 000 rather than 35 700 plants/ha) produced the highest yields.
