Reciprocal crossbreeding of two breeds of rabbit: New Zealand White X German Spotted Giant

Roczniki Naukowe Zootechniki 6(1): 185-193

New Zealand White (NZW) females were mated with NZW or German Spotted Giant (GSG) males , and GSG females were mated with GSG or NZW males. There were 6 females and 3 males in each group. For the 4 types of mating resp., body weight of the young averaged 359, 354, 441 and 321 g at 3 wk of age, and 2205, 2423, 2670 and 2383 g at 12 wk. At these ages, the differences between most groups were highly significant.
