Relationship of physical measurements with cold dressed carcass weights and carcass grades of Mecheri and Mandya lambs

Cheiron 8(2): 104-109

Data were obtained on 88 male and female lambs of each of the Mecheri and Mandya breeds. Body measurements were taken before slaughter. For the 2 breeds resp., body length averaged 52.81 and 52.51 cm, withers height 57.57 and 49.84 cm, heart girth 60.30 and 60.51 cm, and cold dressed carcass weight 7.26 and 7.30 kg.
