Relationship of soluble glycoprotein of milk fat globule membrane to component-3, -5 and -8 fractions of proteose-peptone

Relationship of soluble glycoprotein of milk fat globule membrane to component-3, -5 and -8 fractions of proteose-peptone

Agricultural and Biological Chemistry 43(10): 2105-2113

Anti-SGP reacting protein (the whey protein that reacts immunologically with antiserum to soluble glycoprotein (SGP) isolated from bovine milk fat globule membrane) was mostly concentrated in component-3 of the proteose-peptone fraction. Chemical characteristics such as amino acid and carbohydrate compositions of the component-3 fraction were markedly different from those of SGP. Disk electrophoretic properties were also dissimilar to each other.
