Relationship of specific gravity of chicken eggs to number of cracked eggs observed and percent shell

Relationship of specific gravity of chicken eggs to number of cracked eggs observed and percent shell

Poultry Science 58(1): 250-251

When eggs differing in specific gravity were processed through an egg-sizing machine and candled for cracks, there was a significant decrease in the number of cracked eggs as specific gravity increased. There was also a significant increase in percent shell as specific gravity increased.
