Relationship of starch content and starch yield of late potatoes to the ratio of available soil nutrients in the Bohemian-Moravian uplands

In a field trial in 1961-4 at Valecov, potatoes Blanik were given no fertilizer, 25 t FYM/ha, alone or with NPK, 0.5N + PK, NP + 0.5K, NK + 0.5P or 0.5N + 0.5P + 0.5K where NPK was 80 kg N + 34.9 kg P + 136.1 kg K/ha. Increase in NPK increased tuber yields, decreased tuber starch content and increased av. starch yield from 5.04 t/ha with no fertilizer or FYM to 6.81-7.48 t; the highest starch yield was given by NPK.
