Relationships between ear yield and morphological characters at maturity in different winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) cultivars

In field trials in 1974-5 the relationships at maturity between ear yield components (number of fertile spikelets, number of grains/spikelet, mean dry wt. of 1 grain) and the morphological characteristics of the shoot were studied in populations of winter wheat Cama, Norda and Maris Nimrod. The results were analysed statistically. The morphological characters studied were dry wt. and length of the fertile tiller and its parts.
