Relationships between genes controlling resistance to peanut mottle virus (PMV) in soybeans

During 1975-78, cultivars and strains were mechanically inoculated with a Virginia isolate of PMV in the greenhouse, and crosses were performed between resistant and susceptible lines and among resistant lines. Following the inoculation of F1, F2 F3 seedlings from selected crosses, resistance in Peking was found to be conditioned by a recessive gene.
