Relationships between plasma follicle stimulating (FSH) levels and ovulation rate in the ewe

Relationships between plasma follicle stimulating (FSH) levels and ovulation rate in the ewe

Australian Society for Reproductive Biology Tenth annual conference, University of Sydney, Sydney, August 30-31 and September 1st, 1978 Programme and abstracts of papers: 85

In 300 Border Leicester X Australian Merino ewes, oestrus was synchronised by 2 injections, 12 days apart, of a PGF2 alpha analogue, the 1st injection being given 7 days after the start of a 40-day supplementary feeding period. Ovulation rate was measured by laparoscopy 24 days after the 2nd PG injection. Peripheral blood samples were taken on the day following the 2nd PG injection and from days 9 to 17 of the induced cycle.
