Relationships between soil structure and methods of irrigation in different soil types

During one irrigation season in which two soils under tomatoes for processing were irrigated by sprinkling, furrow irrigation and drip irrigation, the structure of a sandy alluvial soil after irrigation was the same for all three methods of irrigation, but in the top layer of a clayey vertisol aggregate size and water stability were decreased at the points of direct contact of the soil with the water supplied by furrow irrigation and drip irrigation.
