Relative linkage indices: an international intertemporal analysis for agriculture as well as its foodgrains sub-sector

Relative linkage indices: an international intertemporal analysis for agriculture as well as its foodgrains sub-sector

Thirty ninth Annual Conference of the Indian Society of Agricultural Economics, Bangalore, December 18-20, 1979:

In an input-output framework the sectors are linked through purchases and sales of each other's output. A sector's intra-sectoral linkage relative to its economy-wide linkage, called its relative linkage, presents the sector's relative dependence (importance) on (to) the rest of the system. Indices of relative linkage (both input and distribution) for agriculture as well as its sub-sector, foodgrains, have been computed for different years for India, Japan and the USA.
