Relative performance of barley varieties at different levels of nitrogen under late sown and irrigated condition

In irrigated trials in 1975-6 with 4 barley sown on 16 Dec. on clay loam soil in Bihar and given 20 kg P2O5 + 20 kg K2O/ha, increasing the applied N from 0 to 60 kg/ha increased av. grain yield from 1.07 to 2.24 t/ha. Cultivar DL 70 and P 103 gave the highest (2.26 t/ha) and lowest (1.15 t) av. yields, resp.
