Relative sensitivity of flue-cured tobacco cultivars to four species of Meloidogyne

Relative sensitivity of flue-cured tobacco cultivars to four species of Meloidogyne

Journal of Nematology 10(4): 281

Meloidogyne incognita resistant cultivars of tobacco were initially stunted by infestation with M. incognita, in glasshouse experiments, but had recovered by harvest. Susceptible cultivars became progressively more stunted with time. Only 2 of the 9 tested resistant cultivars were stunted by M. hapla. Resistant cultivars had varying tolerances to M. arenaria and M. javanica but showed more tolerance than the susceptible cultivars.
