Relative toxicity of five insecticides to larvae of Dermacentor variabilis (Say) (Acarina: Ixodidae)

Relative toxicity of five insecticides to larvae of Dermacentor variabilis (Say) (Acarina: Ixodidae)

Journal of the New York Entomological Society 85: 206-207

Larvae of Dermacentor variabilis (Say) were exposed to surfaces treated with insecticide. The LC values showed that noled was about 100 times as toxic to the larvae as propoxur, chlorpyrifos, or pyrethrins and 1000 times as toxic as fenchlorphos (ronnel). The concentrations of insecticidal deposits effective for larval control in the laboratory were less than those recommended by the manufacturers for field application against other arthropods.
