Current research at the Macaulay Institute on remote sensing in peat resource and land use surveys has shown that a photogrammetric approach based on aerial survey techniques is invaluable. To gain perspective on ground features over a wide area, a carefully planned and efficient sampling strategy based on a range of photographic scales is essential.
