Antibody formation to Babesia divergens was studied in three experimentally infected cattle during 9 months by means of the indirect fluorescent antibody test (IFAT), the indirect haemagglutination test (IHA) and the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Titres ranging from 1:32 (IHA) and 1:64 (ELISA) and higher were regarded as positive. Using somatic antigens from B. divergens or B. rodhaini, specific antibodies to B. divergens were detectable by all three tests.
