Some results of field trials in wheat with Hoe 23408 for the control of annual ryegrass (Lolium sp.) and wild oats (Avena sp.)

Proceedings of the First Conference of the Council of Australian Weed Science Societies: 254-258

The results of 6 field trials in wheat using Hoe 23 408 (diclofop-methyl) are reported. In 3 trials concerned with Lolium multiflorum, rates of 0.56, 0.375 and 0.188 kg/ha gave 93, 85 and 60% average control, respectively, and yield increases of 114, 84 and 38%. The optimum rate is suggested as 0.375 kg for L. multiflorum control. In 3 trials for control of Avena sp., 0.94, 0.75 and 0.56 kg/ha gave 88, 79 and 67% average control, respectively, with yield increases of 62, 44 and 36%.
