A single eye from each of 536 cattle killed during April to October 1978 near Guelph, Ontario, Canada, was examined for worms. From October to December both eyes from 195 cattle were examined. During the first period 74 eyes (13.8%) harboured Thelazia. Of 71 eyes, 30 were infected with T. gulosa, 28 with T. lacrymalis and 13 had both species. In the 2nd period 63 (32.3%) of the cattle were infected with Thelazia and 12 of these animals had worms in both eyes.
