Control diet was based on yellow maize 60, groundnut oilmeal 20% and in similar diets tapioca thippi, cassava starch waste 10, 20 or 30% replaced equal weight of maize. The 4 diets had 15.5 to 16.5% protein. In 2 trials each with 16 Large White pigs given the diets from weaning to 70 kg average liveweight, total and daily gain and feed efficiency were almost equal with no thippi, 10 or 20% but performance was poor with 30%.
