Studies on forecasting of mosaic disease occurrence on Japanese radish 4. Parasitism of turnip mosaic virus to the weeds around the fields

Studies on forecasting of mosaic disease occurrence on Japanese radish 4. Parasitism of turnip mosaic virus to the weeds around the fields

Bulletin of the Hiroshima Prefectural Agricultural Experiment Station (40): 31-36

TuMV was not isolated from outwardly healthy weeds in 49 spp. of plants belonging to 20 families collected from fields. Among the naturally infected weeds the virus was isolated from Cerastium glomeratum. In inoculation tests 16 weed spp. from 7 families were susceptible, including Capsella bursa-pastoris, Cardamine flexuosa, C. scutata and Cerastium glomeratum which became systemically infected, while Stellaria media was a symptomless host.
