Studies on increased fresh weight production of some forage plants on a Suceava chernozem soil

Cercetari Agronomice in Moldova 2: 77-82

In field trials in 1956-9 without irrigation on a clay chernozem soil, maize gave av. DM yields of 3.98 t/ha with no fertilizer and 6.3 t/ha with 10 t FYM/ha. In field trials in 1970-1, Sudan grass or wheat followed by maize HD-311 or HD-405 gave total DM yields of 10.0, 10.5 and 11.3 t/ha, resp.
