Studies on matter production in wheat. 6. Quantitative estimation of photosynthetic depression in the field



Japanese Journal of Crop Science 42(2): 293-299



Depression of apparent photosynthesis in wheat was investigated. In winter, low temp. gave suboptimum rates during the day with a greater depression in the morning than in the afternoon. Photosynthetic rates were decreased by an after-effect of low night temp. Depression due to low temp. during the day occurred in spring up to the beginning of May. A depression, the cause of which was not known, was found during the afternoon of fine days in spring.
