Opt. temp. for DM production and N fixation were investigated at 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 deg C in 7 tropical legumes. Opt. DM production was at 20 deg in (a) Trifolium semipilosum Safari, (b) Lotononis bainesii Miles and (c) Glycine wightii Cooper and at 30 deg in (d) Stylosanthes humilis Townsville, (e) Desmodium intortum Greenleaf, (f) Macroptilium atropurpureum Siratro and (g) Leucaena leucocephala.
