Laboratory studies were carried out in Japan on the mechanism of overwintering in the phytoseiid mite Neoseiulus longispinosus (Evans) (Amblyseius longispinosus) and a field survey of its hibernation sites was conducted in Sapporo, Hokkaido, during 1976-77.
