Studies on photosynthetic production and its seasonal change in a Chamaecyparis obtusa plantation

Studies on photosynthetic production and its seasonal change in a Chamaecyparis obtusa plantation

Journal of the Japanese Forestry Society 59(9): 327-337

Daily gross photosynthetic production was calculated for each month between Aug. 1973 and July 1976 in a stand in Aichi Prefecture. The Monsi-Saeki model of canopy photosynthesis was used, taking into account the adaptive change of the photosynthesis/illuminance curve in leaves within the canopy and the daily course of illuminance above the canopy. Daily gross photosynthetic production was max. in June-Aug. and min. in Jan.
