Studies on physiological and morphological effects of herbicides, Lasso and Tok E-25 on groundnut (Arachis hypogaea, L.)

Pod yields in groundnuts were the highest on handweeded plots, followed by those given Lasso at 5 and 7.5 l/ha, Tok-E-25 at 17 l/ha, Lasso at 11.5 l/ha and Tok-E-25 at 17 l/ha. Herbicides and handweedings increased the spread and growth of plants, while their ht. was greatest without weed control. Herbicides inhibited the radicle length and produced swellings of hypocotyl and epicotyl due to the stimulation of cambium.
