Studies on piezoelectric effect of wood. VII. Effect of moisture content on piezoelectric dispersion of wood

The variation in the complex piezoelectric modulus of wood of Chamaecyparis obtusa with temp. (-170 deg to + 30 deg C) was measured at frequencies of 20 and 100 Hz and at moisture contents from 1% to 16%. The temp. of max. piezoelectric dispersion was affected by m.c., and the changes with increasing m.c. were different in different temp. ranges. Activation energies were calculated.
