Studies on polysaccharide from jute stick (Corchorus capsularis Linn.)

Small quantities of polysaccharides which were extracted from sun-dried powdered jute stick (jute stem after removal of bark) consisted mainly of D-galactose, D-glucose, D-mannose and D-xylose with smaller amounts of uronic acid and a trace of L-rhamnose.
