Studies on productivity of cocksfoot. 3. Dry matter production of clonal lines

DM production and specific leaf wt. (SLW) were investigated in 7 clones differing in SLW of cocksfoot Kitamidori and Latar sampled on 3 dates before 1st cut. Cultivar differed markedly in leaf length and urea. SLW was higher in Kitamidori than in Latar at the early stage of growth but there was no difference at the later stage. The correlation between DM yield and leaf area decreased with increasing growth.
