Pearl millet sown on 15 June, cut for fodder to a ht. of 10 cm on 20 July and thereafter allowed to regrow gave grain yields of 3.15 t/ha in 1976 and 2.42 t/ha in 1977, compared with 2.68 and 1.96 t, resp., in crops not cut for fodder. Fodder yields of the crops cut on 20 July were 5.9 t/ha in 1976 and 3.18 t in 1977.
