Studies on root initiation and bud outgrowth in nine clones of Triplochiton scleroxylon K. Schum

Results are reported from trials to establish a successful method of vegetative propagation. Rooting of single node cuttings was increased 3-4 times by treatment with NAA + IBA. Growing decapitated trees at an angle of 45 deg stimulated axillary bud outgrowths; buds from basal nodes grew vertically, those from apical nodes phagiogeotropically.
