Studies on the 137Cs-transfer in the food chain soil-plant-milk under the ecological conditions in a given environment

Studies on the 137Cs-transfer in the food chain soil-plant-milk under the ecological conditions in a given environment

Milchwissenschaft 34(5): 275-280

137Cs was determined in samples of soil, plants and milk obtained from farms in the vicinity of the planned nuclear waste processing plant near Gorleben, German Federal Republic. 137Cs transfer factors for the transition soil-plant ranged from 0.018 to 0.115 (pCi/kg plant wet wt.:pCi/kg soil dry wt.). Higher values were generally found for sandy than for loamy lowland soils near the Elbe.
