Studies on the changes of food reserves and the activity of isocitrate lyase and malate synthetase in soyabean seedlings

Studies on the changes of food reserves and the activity of isocitrate lyase and malate synthetase in soyabean seedlings

National Science Council Monthly 7(8): 832-842

Soyabean seeds were soaked in water for 1 h then germinated at 26 deg C. Storage proteins, lipids and sugars in cotyledons decreased after imbibition. Low activities of isocitrate lyase and malate synthetase were found on the 2nd day, and activities were higher on the 8th day and decreased again by the 10th day in either light or darkness.
