Studies on the chemical control of bacterial blight of cotton

In field trials with cotton application of 3 foliar sprays of 50 p.p.m. aureofungin + 50 p.p.m. streptomycin, 500 p.p.m. Bavistin or 100 p.p.m. Agrimycin-100 (streptomycin + oxytetracycline) + 1000 p.p.m. copper oxychloride was effective against Xanthomonas malvacearum infection and resulted in seed-cotton yields of 1.2, 1.13 and 1.1 t/ha, resp., compared with 0.57 t without fungicides. Results of in vitro and field tests are tabulated.
