Studies on the cold storage of satsumas by the purified air circulating system. I. Standard storage conditions and practical use of the system

Studies on the cold storage of satsumas by the purified air circulating system. I. Standard storage conditions and practical use of the system

Bulletin of the Kanagawa Horticultural Experiment Station (25): 1-8

The most suitable storage conditions proved to be: 3-5 deg C, RH 85-90%, wind velocity 20-50 cm/sec, ratio fruit volume:store capacity 20-30%. In these conditions decay was minimal and the fruit kept well for 6-7 months. The best rate of weight loss was 3.3-3.7%/month.
