Studies on the competitive intestinal absorption of amino acids, and sugars in two teleost fishes

Studies on the competitive intestinal absorption of amino acids, and sugars in two teleost fishes

Revista Espanola de Fisiologia 35(1): 111-114

In the fish Ophiocephalus punctatus and Heteropneustes fossilis, glucose and to a lesser degree fructose inhibited the absorption of xylose by intestinal sacs. Absorption of glycine, leucine or tyrosine was inhibited by the presence of another amino acid.
