Damage to potato tubers from Streptomyces scabies has recently increased, particularly in warm areas. In crops grown in spring the period of tuber initiation was comparatively long and the soil temp. was c. 20 deg C, so that in order to give good control the watering treatment should be continued from tuber initiation until harvest.
